Naturpark Zillertal

In the Zillertal Alps Nature Park, our guests have the opportunity to engage in a range of exciting activities.

The nature park stretches from about 1,000 meters to 3,509 meters above sea level, encompassing all elevation levels of the Central Alps. Depending on factors such as altitude, exposure, geological features, or the site's history, you'll encounter a diverse range of habitats, flora, and fauna.

The vertical span of the high-altitude nature park creates a vast array of habitats and a rich diversity of plant and animal life. Glaciers cover a significant portion of the park and have long shaped the landscape.

In addition to natural factors, human activities have also significantly influenced the current appearance of the natural and cultural landscape. Traditional ways of life and economic practices are reflected in the landscape, adding to the charm and romantic appeal of the alpine environment.

The high-altitude nature park offers a variety of recreational opportunities. Whether you're seeking an active adventure through mountain hiking, climbing, or mountain biking, or prefer leisurely walks through the park's beautiful and diverse landscapes, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Experience the unique features and secrets of the Nature Park on one of our guided tours in the summer program. Be enchanted by the sparkling world of minerals, adventurous stories from the days of poachers and smugglers, or the special charm of a torchlit hike.
